1.當定語(yǔ)從句的引導詞在從句中作主語(yǔ)時(shí)，定語(yǔ)從句中謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞的形式是根據先行詞而定的。

【誤】People who has been invited to the party are very excited.

【正】People who have been invited to the party are very excited.

【析】例句中who在定語(yǔ)從句中作主語(yǔ)，先行詞是people，從句中謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞要用have been invited。

2.主語(yǔ)是單數時(shí)，盡管后面跟有with，together with，but，except，besides，as well as等介詞短語(yǔ)，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞仍用單數形式。

【誤】Mary,with her brothers,study Chinese in China.

【正】Mary,with her brothers,studies Chinese in China.

【析】Mary在句中是主語(yǔ)，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞要用studies，而不用study。

3.表示學(xué)科名稱(chēng)的名詞maths、physics等為單數名詞，news為不可數名詞，他們在句中作主語(yǔ)時(shí)，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞都應用第三人稱(chēng)單數。

【誤】Physics are difficult for him.

【正】Physics is difficult for him.

【析】physics在句中作主語(yǔ)為單數名詞，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞應用第三人稱(chēng)單數is。
